My Voice in Pictures: African Children's Vision of Safety, 2014

Through their images and associated narratives, Africa’s children and youth implore us to do anything and everything to affirm and recognise their richly textured meanings and imaginations, both of which need safety in order to flourish. Through their bright, clear eyes, they show us what is important and vital in our shared world. They reveal their connectedness to the world, to their communities, and to each other. Africa’s children call us to action and embrace a philosophy that positions the youth where they belong – at the heart of all development programmes. Peace is everyone’s responsibility – governments, international organisations and civil society.
