            Through Arts and Science
            Golden Key International Honour Society: PACER
            Director, Prof Phaswana-Mafuya delivered a welcome
            address to New Members in the Society, University
            of Western Cape, 2024.
            Webinars: PACER Director delivered a talk entitled
            Country ownership and sustainable programming of
            the HIV response in South Africa: A scoping review
            at a webinar on the "Impact of stop-work order of
            USAID  on  the  PSET  sector"  organized  by  Higher
            Health SA attended by >500 people.
            Advisory  Committee  Member:  PACER  Director,
            Prof Phaswana-Mafuya serves on the Advancing
            Early Career Researchers and Scholars (AECRS)
            Programme Advisory Committee, Universities
            South Africa.
            Panel memberships: PACER research manager,
            Dr Edith Phalane and one postgraduate student,
            Betty Sebati, served as panellists at the AECRS,
            Universities South Africa webinar, under the theme:
            Empowering emerging researchers and academics,
            Science Forum South Africa, 2024.
            Satellite session: PACER research manager, Dr Edith
            Phalane was the Programme Director for Next-Gen
            Science Careers at the Science Forum Exploring
            New Frontiers with women leaders presented by
            OWSD NC.
            Task teams: PACER staff serve on the South African
            National AIDS Council (SANAC) HIV Estimates
            Technical  Working  Group, SANAC Key  Population
            Technical Working Group, and NDoH STI Technical
            Working Group.
            In addition to media mentions on HERS-SA awards,
            Prof Phaswana-Mafuya was featured on SABC news
            DStv channel 404 on addressing treatment backlogs
            in SAs public health system. She was also featured on
            The Mail & Guardian, on NRF Women in Leadership      Discussions and workshop at the University of
            (NRF Women in Leadership – The Mail & Guardian       South Carolina.
