Prof Asha George is a highly distinguished global leader in public health and health systems research, currently holding the position of South African Research Chair (Tier 1) in Health Systems, Complexity and Social Change at the University of the Western Cape, while also serving as an Adjunct Professor at Johns Hopkins University. She is an NRF B-rated researcher, with a Scopus H-Index = 40. She has 166 peer reviewed publications and has been active leader in the Unit’s research and operations during the review term. She leads and collaborates on numerous international research consortia, supervises postgraduate students, and plays active roles in global scientific committees and editorial boards. Her qualitative research, centered on reproductive and child health, targets the crucial frontline interface where communities, health workers, and service delivery converge. Her career reflects strong leadership in advancing equity-driven, interdisciplinary health systems knowledge and practice.
