Smanga Mkhwanazi is a Senior Scientist at SAMRC, Gender and Health Research Unit. He holds a master’s degree in development studies, at the University of Kwa Zulu Natal. His research focuses on young men's lived experiences living in both informal urban settlements and rural areas. Currently, he led the process evaluation and food riots components on the GCRF project focusing on an inter-disciplinary approach to understanding and intervening on contextual factors that shape HIV-risk for young women and men in South Africa.
