Request for Applications: Joint Call for Research Projects on Genomic Insights into the Pathogenesis of Cancer and Infectious Diseases
The South African Medical Research Council (SAMRC) is pleased to announce a joint research call on “Genomic Insights into the Pathogenesis of Cancer and Infectious Diseases” in partnership with the Japan Agency for Medical Research and Development (AMED).
Research proposals are invited to address the following focus areas:
- Elucidation of Cancer Malignancy Mechanisms Based on Genome Comparison
- Identification of Novel Genetic Loci with High Cancer Onset Risk and Understanding of Their Pathogenesis
- Deciphering the Genetic Background Resistant to Pathogen Infection and Onset
- Research and Development of Prevention Techniques for Carcinogenesis Mechanisms Caused by Viral Infection
Only proposals with co-Principal Investigators based in South Africa and Japan will be eligible for funding.
