I have been fortunate to be a public health researcher in HIV prevention and other infectious diseases which has been both a professional calling and a deeply personal mission. Working with communities has given me a profound understanding of the epidemic’s complexity, where science, culture, and human resilience intersect. Thus, giving me many lessons which I share in my day-to-day life with people.

My methodology is grounded in collaboration and partnerships as the most effective solutions emerge when research is co-created with communities, respecting their knowledge, values, and lived realities. This participatory approach not only strengthens the quality of the research but also fosters trust, ownership, and long-term change.

Over the years, I have learned that reflexivity is not a one-time exercise—it is a continuous process of questioning, listening, and evolving. It means acknowledging my own assumptions, being open to critique, and embracing diverse perspectives that challenge and enrich my work.

Best saying from my parents that keeps me grounded is:  “When we lose wealth, we lose nothing;  when we lose health we lose something and when we lose character we lose everything”  On this human journey, I persevere  to learn, unlearn and relearn; AND advocate for reuse, repurpose and recycle of tangible items.

My goal is to contribute to a future that is a shared victory for humanity—where every individual, regardless of background, could live a healthy, empowered life. My work is driven by the belief that all our work when guided by compassion and integrity, can be a catalyst for lasting transformation.
