During her time as an intern (through the DSI-HSRC Internship Programme) within the Environment and Health Research Unit (EHRU) at the South African Medical Research Council (SAMRC), Ms Amy Sheldon provided support related to public engagement strategies, science communication tools and the like.

Since completing the internship, Ms Sheldon holds the position of Project Leader within the Climate Change and Health Research Programme, in the Environment and Health Research Unit (E&HRU). Her expertise is in stakeholder engagement and research translation – and she is involved in three major projects, including: PLANET4HEALTH (about one health), R-NEET (about resilience in youth) and the Minibus Taxi Heat Study.

She has a BA degree in English Language and Literature, as well as an MA degree in Film Studies – both obtained from the University of Cape Town (UCT).
