Dr Chantelle Howlett-Downing is a Senior Scientist in the Climate Change and Health (CCH) Research Programme at the SAMRC’s Environment and Health Research Unit (E&HRU) and based in Pretoria. With a research background in chemistry, environmental management and environmental health studies, Chantelle is very interested in the interface between air pollution and health and finding new ways to investigate and understand how these very complex systems work apart and where they meet. Chantelle is also actively involved with the Clean Air Fund project and contributing to a range of other activities within the Programme. Dr Howlett-Downing also supervises postgraduate students and is currently an Extraordinary Lecturer at the University of Pretoria (UP).
