Research Focus: Natural products and cardiovascular disease research
Biography: Dr. Kadidiatou Ndjoubi Ossamy holds a PhD in Medicinal Chemistry from the Cape Peninsula University of Technology, where her research focused on isolating, structurally characterizing, and pharmacologically evaluating plant-derived natural products. Her academic training integrates natural products chemistry, structure elucidation, and computational drug discovery.
She is currently a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Biomedical Research and Innovation Platform. Her research focuses on the molecular mechanisms of diabetic cardiomyopathy. She uses structure-based drug design, molecular docking, and molecular dynamics simulations to identify bioactive molecules that target disease-related signaling pathways. By integrating in silico modeling and in vitro validation, she investigates compound-target interactions and underlying mechanisms of action.
