Dr Nadia Carstens is the Specialist Scientist for the Genomics Platform. She is a HPCSA-registered medical scientist specialising in next-generation sequencing (NGS) technology and clinical variant interpretation. She is the Specialist Scientist for the SAMRC Genomics Platform and holds a joint research appointment with the Division of Human Genetics, NHLS and University of the Witwatersrand. Her research interests are centered around the use of NGS technology to improve diagnostics for developmental disorders in Africa.
