Samira is currently pursuing her PhD in the field of Genetics. She has worked in the Diabetes field for 14 years, specifically involved in the Molecular Biology aspects of these projects. She obtained her Master’s degree from the University of Johannesburg in 2009. Samira is experienced in various techniques, in training post graduate students, and developing and optimising protocols in the fields of Genomics and Molecular Biology. Her research focus areas include genomics, SLE, Diabetes (prevention, diagnosis and treatment), beta cell protection, obesity and therapeutics derived from plants.
