Phindile Senamile Ngobese is a Scientist at the Mental Health, Alcohol, Substance Use and Tobacco Research Unit of the South African Medical Research Council.
She obtained her Bachelor of Social Science (Anthropology and Psychology), and Honors in Psychology degrees both from the University of KwaZulu-Natal (UKZN) in 2015 and 2016 respectively. She completed her Masters degree in Medical Science at UKZN in 2020 which looked at Primary healthcare Providers and Patients communication about the Use of Complementary, Alternative and Traditional Medicine in Ethekwini, South Africa.
She has received training and worked in tobacco control since 2019. She has also work on several tobacco control research projects at national and regional levels.
Ms Ngobese has also presented her work at national and international conferences.
She is currently a PhD candidate at the department of public health, Sefako Makgatho Health Sciences University.
She is interested in nicotine addiction among diverse populations, specifically in the context of South Africa and hopes her work can lead to interventions that cater for diverse groups.
