Research Support

The CTR has been instrumental in the establishment of various task teams that aid in the development and support of staff and students within the Centre. Staff members from both the SAMRC and SU participate in these task teams.

Research funding support. The team actively supports researchers with funding applications, promotes grant writing and hosts several workshops and seminars to postdoctoral fellows, not only part of the CTR but also to other divisions at SU.

Promote a culturally inclusive, supportive and welcoming work environment is maintained. This team also ensures that the CTR is welcoming to all, and has established a mentoring programme for new postgraduate students

Responsible for record keeping and collation of relevant information for Annual and quarterly report compilation for the SAMRC, NRF and other funders.

Societal Impact Task Team

Responsible for ensuring meaningful community engagement to promote science and to ensure adequate dissemination of research data.

Teaching and Learning Task Team

Teaching and Learning Task Team

Primary liaison with the Stellenbosch University Centre for Teaching and Learning to ensure that the postgraduate teaching curriculum is on par with the University standard.

Additionally, SU provides the support facilities necessary to ensure financial and ethical compliance. Researchers have access to the Health Research Ethics, Biosafety and Environmental Ethics and the Animal Ethics committees, Research Grants Management Office, Research Capacity Development and Funding Office, Doctoral Office, International Office, Research Development and Support Division, Purchasing of Products and Services, Library and information services, Health and Safety Office, Information and Communication Technology and Campus Health Services.
