Dr Glynn Pindihama is a postdoctoral researcher in the Environment & Health Research Unit (E&HRU). His primary focus is the Water, Sanitation, and Society research project. His work focuses on metals and emerging contaminants in water, soil, and crops, and he has expertise in environmental toxicology, water and sanitation, and the remediation of organic pollutants.
Dr Pindihama holds a PhD in Environmental Science and a Master of Environmental Science from the University of Venda, as well as a Postgraduate Diploma in Higher Education from the University of Johannesburg. His doctoral research examined the bioaccumulation of microcystins in edible plants and the development of novel sorbents for monitoring cyanotoxins in agricultural water systems. He has contributed to projects, including the NASA-SA BIOSCAPE campaign and the SAMRC Wastewater Surveillance and Research Programme, and is registered with SACNASP and affiliated with WISA.
