Dr Nomfundo Mahlangeni is a Senior Scientist in the Environment and Health Research Unit (E&HRU) at the South African Medical Research Council (SAMRC), who obtained her PhD in Chemistry at the University of KwaZulu-Natal (UKZN). She currently leads the Water, Sanitation and Society Research Programmme. Her background is in heavy metal contamination and human health. Dr Mahlangeni’s research interests include contaminants in water resources in low-and- middle-income countries (LMICs). She is also passionate about women and children’s health research.
