Darshini Govindasamy has a PhD in Health Economics from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. Her mixed-methods interdisciplinary research has focused on demand-side issues related to models of HIV/TB care (testing, linkage, retention) and wellbeing (SDG 3) as an outcome measure for policy evaluations among adolescents and young adults living with HIV in SSA. Her post-doctoral research aims to contribute to the economic evidence base on scaling-up HIV care for young people in SA in the context of UHC/NHI initiatives. As such, she is planning studies that seek to investigate the economic impacts related to stigma and COVID-19 and evaluate community-based model of care to promote mental health and wellbeing among this population
