Lieve Vanleeuw is a social scientist with a focus on qualitative research in TB, social protection and health systems. Ms Vanleeuw is working on a PhD at Tampere University, Finland, looking at the role of social support and protection in treatment outcomes for TB patients in Cape Town South Africa. She is furthermore an integral part of the team that is designing and implementing the Social Impact Bond for Adolescent Girls and Young Women (AGYW), an innovative approach to financing socially complex programmes and achieving better outcomes for programmes addressing the needs of young women in South Africa.
