Kopano Rebaona Dube is a Chief Research Technologist in the Mental Health, Alcohol, Substance Use and Tobacco Research Unit of the South African Medical Research Council.

She holds an MSc in Clinical Epidemiology and MSc. in Medical Physiology both obtained from Stellenbosch University. She is a former International AIDS Society Collaborative Initiative for Paediatric HIV Education and Research (IAS CIPHER) Growing Leaders of Tomorrow fellow for the research project entitled DECIPHER Phase 2: Birth Outcomes & Neonatal Morbidity and Mortality which was completed through the Department of Peadiatrics and Child Health at Stellenbosch University. She has research experience in health professionals’ education, HIV as well as child and maternal health.

She is involved in two projects that focus on Mycobacterium tuberculosis at the Worcester Research Site. The projects include investigating substance use as a factor on TB disease (transmission, treatment adherence and outcomes).
